As part of the water-soluble fertilizer standard series, this standard works in conjunction with regulations such as NY 1107-2020 (Water-soluble Fertilizers with Macronutrients) to construct a fertilizer quality system covering different nutrient elements. By clarifying technical parameters, it effectively curbs the practice of falsely labeling fertilizer content. As of 2023, the standard is still under continuous revision and improvement to adapt to the needs of new fertilization technologies.

According to relevant documents from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, fertilizer manufacturers must label their products with the generic name according to this standard and are prohibited from using exaggerated promotional language. In the field of government procurement, bidding products must provide a qualified report issued by a provincial testing institution and must indicate the implementation standard as NY 1429-2010. As of 2023, this standard has been incorporated into the water and fertilizer integration technology specification system and applied to modern agricultural projects such as "one spray for multiple promotions" for autumn grain.

The standard appendix specifies that the determination of free amino acid content uses potentiometric titration, and the detection of trace elements uses instrumental analysis methods such as atomic absorption spectrometry. In the 2024 Hongze District procurement project, suppliers were required to provide third-party testing reports covering indicators such as amino acid content and total trace elements.
