The group standard for "Water-soluble Fertilizers Containing Alginic Acid" was initiated by Beijing Leili Marine Biological New Industry Co., Ltd. in July 2023. The China Agricultural Technology Extension Association formally approved the project in June 2024 (CATA Standard No. [2024] 8). A drafting group was established in July 2024. After more than four months of work, a draft standard and explanatory notes were completed in November 2024. From December 9, 2024 to January 8, 2025, the CATA released the draft standard for public comment, soliciting opinions from universities, research institutions, industry enterprises, and application units. A total of 43 comments were received from 20 units. The drafting group revised the standard based on the comments and completed the expert review draft on February 17, 2025.
On February 19, 2025, the China Agricultural Technology Extension Association organized a review meeting for the group standard with renowned experts. The experts carefully reviewed the main text of the standard and the drafting instructions, and put forward important suggestions such as adding liquid formulations of water-soluble fertilizers containing alginic acid as a medium element and solid formulations of water-soluble fertilizers containing trace elements. With the joint efforts of the drafting group and the association staff, the draft standard was finally finalized and officially announced on March 12, 2025.
